Ecotoxicology

Ecotoxicology is intimately related to ecology, which was defined by Ernst Haeckel (1969). This term highlights everything that has to do with the relationships established between the environment and the organisms that live in it, grouped by populations, communities and ecosystems.

The organisms present different trophic relationships between the base of the trophic chain (primary producers), the secondary ones and the tertiary ones.

In ecotoxicology it is important to know the effects on organisms of several links in this chain, because they are related to each other.

Importance of ecotoxicology:

-Investigate the ecological effects of pollutants on organisms, species, populations, communities and aquatic / terrestrial ecosystems.

-Persistence of pollutants in the environment

-Sensitivity of the species

- QGIS

El programa por excelencia para hacer funciones más aplicadas es ARCGIS / ARCVIEW.

Y si quieres hacer todavía funciones más sencillas, como visualizar mapas o calcular distancias, te recomiendo GOOGLE EARTH PRO

Scientific Writing Course

I would like to recommend a course for scientific writing that I have done, from the page of free courses COURSERA.ORG.

The course is called Writing in the sciences, and is sponsored by Stanford University. It lasts from 4 to 8 weeks, it is in English and you learn how to write a scientific article.

If you finish it in good terms you get a signed certificate.

It is highly recommended because you learn to improve scientific writing techniques and you even learn new tips.

En el doctorado, realizar una estancia en un centro de investigación es muy recomendable, ya que adquieres nuevas experiencias, otros modelos de estudio y nuevos contactos.

Inglés

Para estudiar el doctorado vas a necesitar un nivel de inglés mínimo, para poder leer la mayor cantidad de artículos posibles, puesto que la mayoría están en este idioma.

Actualmente ya están pidiendo nivel mínimo de TOEFL (500) para acceso y 550 para titulación.

Para ello, te recomiendo ajustar tus horarios para hacer un espacio mínimo para mejorar tu nivel. La opción más económica si haces el doctorado en la UAT es el CELLAP.

Incluso se ofrecen cursos los sábados, veranos y distintos horarios en mañana o tarde.
